FAQ

What is FM-DX Webserver?

FM-DX Webserver is an open-source project for radio enthusiasts and DXers (people who receive distant FM stations). It allows anyone with compatible equipment to host their own webserver and control their tuner remotely. It's maintained by the FMDX.org team.

What do I need a tunnel for?

If you don't have a public IP address or want to avoid opening ports directly, a tunnel lets you securely expose your webserver to the internet. You can either use the official fmtuner.org tunnel (for supporters) or a community tunnel like this one.

Can I get access?

You can reach out to me on Discord or via email (check below). Please note: this is a personal project I'm testing, so I can't guarantee 24/7 uptime. I primarily use it for my own webservers, but I'm happy to discuss access if you're interested.

Where is the tunnel hosted?

The tunnel runs on a homelab in Czechia with decent (but not unlimited) bandwidth. It is recommended to limit audio bitrate to 128 Kb/s or 192 Kb/s for best performance.
